Volunteer Programme

The volunteer programme can provide individuals with the opportunity to gain experience in the facilitation of peer support, education sessions, advocacy and service user involvement projects. Volunteering in the
substance misuse field is extremely rewarding and all volunteers will receive:

• A wide range of free training which covers aspects of personal development and the substance misuse agenda.
• Variable working hours (according to individual needs and DATUS requirements).
• Payment of out of pocket expenses (in accordance with DATUS policies and procedures)

Upon completion of the scheme, volunteers can expect to receive:

• A reference
• Three months job training and support in
gaining appropriate qualifications

There are currently three volunteer posts available, all of which will be advertised and recruited via a short listing and interview process.
